We would be happy to upgrade a single distribution board if it is no longer fit for purpose, or upgrade your entire distribution infrastructure if required. We are well experienced in planning and carrying out this type of work in a manner that will minimise disruption to your day to day activities. Works can often be done with an out of hours shutdown, ensuring your business activities are not interrupted.
It is a legal requirement to have the complete electrical installation tested and inspected at least every 5 years, depending on the building use. This is a service we regularly offer to new and existing customers. We are happy to schedule this so it does not interfere with your day to day activities. To minimise disruption and spread cost, we are happy to test 20% of your installation every year for 5 years.
Unsure about who will design the electrical works? We can take your outline brief and develop it in to a full system design. Whether it is distribution infrastructure, lighting, submains, or power to new machinery we can do the design work, or, if it is more a question of a sympathetic method of installation that causes the least amount of disruption to your building, again we can work with you to achieve this. We are of course more than happy to install a 3rd party designed project also.

We understand that due to the very nature of your site, we will be expected to work around your timetable. Whilst traditionally a great deal of work takes place during the six week summer holiday we have found that by working through the night or on weekends during the rest of the year we are able to complete projects whilst limiting disruption to your day to day activities. We will always make sure we leave the site spotless at the end of each shift. We would love to hear about any forthcoming projects, please feel free to give us a call to discuss.
Genco electricians are at home in the most demanding of factory environments. We regularly undergo client site inductions and training to ensure that whilst on site our practices will mirror yours. We often work at locations where the factory has its own electrical team but we are called upon to provide support for projects that fall outside of the normal scope of their work, that may be a distribution upgrade, a power supply for a new machine, general electrical installation work or testing and inspecting to ensure compliance. Whatever it may be we will always apply the same logic – we go out of our way so you don’t have to, we will attend site around your shift patterns to avoid any disruption or delays to your busy production schedule.
Years of providing electrical installation services to the food industry have given us the experience to know what it takes to work with you to get the job done. Whilst working in these environments, we know we are going to face challenges such as working around your busy production and cleaning schedules, liaising on site with your own engineers, cooperating with your health, safety and hygiene policies and carrying out installation work during the limited production down time. We understand planning is the key to success when working in such an environment and we are keen to work with you to ensure we are on hand to complete works in a manner that in no way disrupts your ability to produce.
Office refurbishments have long been a staple offering from Genco. We are happy to work with you to put together a scheme that suits your requirements. A standard offering might include: small power, network and data cabling requirements and a bespoke lighting design, however, we can go way beyond. We are happy to manage your project and oversee other trades to allow you to focus on your business activities. This is a sector where we can offer a bit more than most. The perfect environment to implement a smart lighting system – we can design, supply, install and commission. Our partner company Genco Tech can help us out here to bring something a bit more sophisticated than your average electrical contractor.
Having several years’ experience undertaking electrical work during shopfitting contracts we are sure Genco can meet the demands of your project. We understand that tight timescales, working in close proximity to other trades and anti-social hours are all part and parcel of delivering retail projects on time and to a high standard. We can work with you to develop a phasing plan that minimises disruption to your trade whilst at the same time ensures efficient delivery to a high end specification, we would love to work with you to design a complete electrical system or a particular lighting project, let us help you enhance your brand and make the best of your space.
We understand that works of this nature have to be carefully planned to include strategy that is both sympathetic to the building fabric as well as the building use. It may be that your wiring has not been touched for 30 years (or more) we are confident that we can provide an installation that once signed off can again be left for a period of 30 to 50 years without the need for alteration. The most significant element of the works is likely to be the lighting, when formulating the design we will take in to consideration many factors, not least, how the congregation will be lit, how much natural light is there? Do you require a dimming system to enhance atmosphere? What are the key features including the altar, lectern, pulpit, font etc. Consideration will also be given to other architectural features which would benefit from being lit.
Like most people we enjoy the opportunity to relax at the bar, but are happy to wait until the hard work is done. In recent years we have completed installation projects at hotels, restaurants, bars and pubs and understand that each and every project is unique. We are keen to work with our clients to design an installation that properly reflects your business image, whether it is high end sophistication or a good old fashioned traditional atmosphere you are looking for our lighting design will help you achieve it. More often nowadays spaces have to be flexible as they are used for different applications at different times, it could be a vibrant corporate event space during the day and a warmly lit restaurant at night , we can work with you to create this using the correct light fittings and a bit of smart control.
Over the years we have been happy to be involved in a variety of projects at sports and social clubs, whether you require a complete rewire, sports field lighting upgrade, a changing room refurbishment or are planning on sprucing up your bar please give us a call to discuss your requirements. Genco has proudly completed many local authority projects over the years, working in a variety of environments. We have completed installation works in libraries, schools, market spaces, offices, retail, food outlets, social housing, plant areas and more. The scale of the projects is considerably varied and whilst a full rewire is a great project to be involved in we are more than happy to carry out small alterations and maintenance work. We understand that whilst working in these public areas we may be subject to increased scrutiny but we are confident that our experience enables us to deliver projects on time in a tidy manner whilst at the same time maintaining a low profile where required. We have carried out this work as both a main contractor and a sub contractor depending on the nature of the project. On all occasions we endeavour to work efficiently to deliver projects on time and on budget.
In recent years we have completed many projects for the emergency services. This has included small refurbishment projects through to complete rewires and system upgrades to live sites. We understand that the service you provide cannot be put on hold for one minute, let alone days at a time, therefore whilst carrying out this type of work we focus on ensuring the day to day liaison between your representatives and our site team is at the top of our agenda. We understand that plans may change due to unforeseen events and we are always flexible to change our activities in line with this. Our staff have been through vetting processes and back ground checks to ensure they are suitable for working in such a sensitive environment.
Whenever we are working on your projects, we will endeavour to keep disruption to an absolute minimum. One of the ways we can do this is by making use of our own facilities, we will often undertake prep work in our workshop and production facility to minimise the time required on site and ultimately reduce cost and disruption to your day to day activities. This helps with keeping costs down as it reduces travel time, site set up costs and project man hours. Typically the work undertaken can include control panel building, distribution equipment and containment preparation, luminaire preparation and flexing, cable preparation, pre-fabrication, cutting, forming and painting brackets. You are welcome to review our facility and keep up to date with progress on the works we are undertaking for you.
