Overview:

At the University of Huddersfield, a major lighting upgrade was undertaken within the main sports hall facility. The project involved replacing the existing high-level lighting system mounted at 10 metres with new, energy-efficient LED luminaires manufactured by Hacel.

In addition to upgrading the light fittings, the project required the complete replacement of the existing dimming controls with a modern DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) control system. The objective was to enhance lighting performance, improve energy efficiency, and provide greater flexibility and control for different sporting and event requirements.

The University of York appointed Genco Electrical Projects to carry out a full electrical fit out of their Professional Services Hub 3 building on Innovation Close. Working alongside Lodestone Projects to deliver a complete refurbishment.

We were tasked with the redevelopment of the university’s civil engineering department. The project involved installing distribution, containment, power, lighting, structured cabling, fire alarm and door access throughout.

This project also required an existing 3-phase distribution area which was to be decommissioned, and outgoing services re-routed to the new proposed location.

Working alongside the principal contractor – Contract Services. We were commissioned to deliver a full electrical fit-out for Innomotics, a leading manufacturer of large industrial motors.

The project, at their commercial and industrial facility in Cheadle, required a robust, high-performance electrical solution to support manufacturing, assemble and office areas.

Millwrights Place was a fit-out project within a new built 14 storey building comprising of 231 apartments. We were working for regular clients, Lodestone Projects, who oversaw the fit out works.

Our scope of works was to install the small power and lighting, mechanical supplies, fire alarm, access control, data, and panic alarm system.

The Challenge:

The main challenge with this commitment is finding the best eco-friendly alternative, whilst maintaining our high-quality service.

We were on the lookout for a solution that allowed us to still safely pack and ship our delicate custom-made products, ensuring they arrive with the customer in perfect condition.

The Challenge:

The main challenge for this project was trying to complete it whilst the office was fully operational. This meant two things; the work needed to be completed within a week and it needed to be completed with at little disruption as possible.

Extra steps were taken to ensure the health and safety of all operatives, and office based employees, to limit risks to a minimum.

Due to the size of the car park, the telehandler and scaffolding had to be organised and manoeuvred from the main road. Which in turn closed access to the car park for employees.

To continue with the Kirklees Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) and its ambition to be Net Zero and Climate Ready by 2038, Genco were asked to source and install multiple new EV chargers in a temporary location to charge their electric van fleet.
